Metallic, ceramic and carbide materials in powder, wire or rod form can be used for flame spraying.

The necessary process energy results from the combustion of a fuel gas/oxygen mixture. The process temperature reaches up to 3.160 degree Celsius.

The coating material is melted by the combustion gases and sprayed onto the workpiece surface.

Typical coating thicknesses range from a few tenths of a millimetre to several millimetres.
