The four-figure donation is a gift in need.
“It’s hard to learn on an empty stomach,” says Wolfram Unterberg, Managing Director of TLS, summing up the plight many German schoolchildren face today. ”Children are the future. The more we invest in their health and education now, the better our society, and economy, will fare in years to come,” he adds.
Mrs. Helga Schütz, Manager of sponsor relations for Germany’s leading childcare association Kinderschutzbund, applauds the substantial donation made by TLS: “It will grant many of the children under our care a warm meal every day. A gift welcomed by everyone.”
TLS embarked on the childcare project as part of longstanding initiatives to increase the sustainability of its operations – from securing best-in-class, resource friendly production to participation in local philanthropy projects.
TLS is the world’s first industrial coatings specialist to obtain membership in B-Corp, a global entrepreneurial network that measures success in terms of environmental and social improvement, over and above growth objectives, and has very strict membership rules.
“All these children will one day shape our society and how the economy thrives,” says CEO Wolfram Unterberg. “What better way to support them than to devote ourselves to their future?”
